Which Boiler Do I Require?
The type of boiler required will depend principally on a combination of three things:
Application – Heat? Steam? CHP?
Biomass boilers can be used in a wide variety of applications such as process steam, hot water provision, district heating or in biomass Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants. The type of heat, such as low pressure hot water or high pressure steam, will determine the type of boiler that is required.
Capacity – kilowatts? Megawatts?
Our biomass boilers are available in sizes ranging from 30kW up to 25MW for an individual boiler. A number of boilers can be combined in a single system to achieve the optimum energy requirement for the client. That energy requirement will determine the type of boiler that is suitable for the job.
Fuel Type – Woodchip? Pellets? Miscanthus? Other Biomass?
Biomass boilers can burn a variety of biomass types such as woodchip, wood pellets, wood shavings, miscanthus, grains and many other materials. Each of these has different properties and these will determine the type of boiler (and fuel handling system) that is required.
